To ensure all members of the community we serve and/or are partnered with are informed, HCAAC is sharing a critical update regarding local housing law. Effective July 1, 2026, there will be new legal requirements that change the eviction process in Anne Arundel County and Annapolis. The three most significant changes are: 14-Day Mandatory Eviction Notice: Landlords are required to give tenants written notice of a scheduled eviction at least 14 days before the date set by the
June Housing Assistance Payment processing was temporarily delayed. HUD's Financial Management Center has been working closely with the U.S. Treasury to address deposit delays, and the issue is now resolved. As a result, there is a one-day delay in the processing of Housing Assistance Payments. We appreciate your patience with this matter.
